Holland Propeller is using Prop Scan, a state of the art propeller inspection system. Prop Scan is used to optimize marine propellers, reduce fuel consumption, increase top speed and cruising speed, eliminate propeller vibration and match engine loading requirements.

Your propeller may be experiencing a number of problems. Bring your props in and we will measure, and provide a Prop Scan computer generated report of your propeller free of charge!

What is Prop Scan?

The computerized Prop Scan was specifically designed to inspect the accuracy and precise hydrodynamic form of Australian, Canadian and US Navy propellers.

The accuracy and form or shape of a propeller blade section as it slices through the water determines the ultimate thrust and performance of any vessel.

Using Prop Scan technology a Prop Scan Technician will measure your propeller free of charge, check the accuracy against the ISO 484 International Standards and determine the section form of your propeller.

To optimize your propeller your Prop Scan Technician can then correct any accuracy problems, apply the correct section form and also tune the pitch of your propellers.

An accurate ‘Prop Scan’ propeller with the correct section form and pitch will always out-perform a standard propeller. You will get fuel savings, increased boat speed, reduced vibration, correct engine RPM and correct engine loading.

ISO-484

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. This organization has produced a standard "ISO 484" that defines the manufacturing tolerances for marine propellers.

Prop Scan technicians use the International Standard 484 to inspect your propeller. ISO compliance gives you quality workmanship and peace of mind. Things that you deserve.

The ISO - 484 standards describe four accuracy categories: S (Very High Accuracy), I (High Accuracy), II (Medium Accuracy), III (Wide Tolerances).

Class I and Class S where traditionally only used on special vessels. Prop Scan has made those classes available to everyone.

This means everyone's propeller problems can be economically resolved. Due to Prop Scan's high levels of accuracy and repeatability it is now possible to repair a propeller to an accuracy level that is twice the accuracy of Class S. We call this Class O.
